How to Install WordPress on Cloudways in 5 Minutes

6 min read · 2026-04-02

Cloudways is the fastest managed WordPress host we've used, but the first-server flow can look intimidating. Follow the steps below and you'll be live on your own $10 DigitalOcean droplet in less than five minutes.

Step 1 — Sign up. Use our 30FREE coupon so no credit card is required. Confirm the verification email.

Step 2 — Launch. On the top-right hit 'Add Server'. Application: WordPress. Server: DigitalOcean · 1 GB · London (or your closest region). Click Launch — the server boots in about 8 minutes.

Step 3 — Log in. Click your app, grab the admin URL and credentials, and log into wp-admin. Install a theme, delete the demo posts, and you're ready.

Step 4 — Connect a domain. Point an A record to your server IP, add the domain in Cloudways under Application → Domain Management, and issue a free Let's Encrypt SSL from SSL Certificate.

That's it. If you want to save 30% on the ongoing bill from day 4 onwards, log out and re-sign up on a friend's account using our 30OFF coupon instead.
